Mrs. Freels was born in Jacksonville on February 25, 1917, the daughter of the late Lucien Hull Boggs and Virginia Bisbee Boggs. After graduating from St. Catherine's School in Richmond, VA she attended Wellesley College, American University and graduated from Jacksonville University. Mrs. Freels was a Communicant of St. Marks Episcopal Church, 4129 Oxford Avenue, where memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 2, 2007,with The Reverend Sandra K. Moyle officiating. A reception will follow. Mrs. Freels was a Colonial Dame, a member of the English Speaking Union and the Florida Yacht Club. She volunteered for Hospiceof Northeast Florida, the Learn to Read Program, and as docent at the Cummer Gallery of Art. Mrs. Freels was married to the late Archie J. Freels. Her sons, Thomas Boggs Freels and Douglas MacDonald Freels, predeceased her. She is survived by her son: A.J. Freels, Jr.; a niece: Alexandra Boggs Dieter; her great nieces: Jennifer Dieter Hauser, Michelle Dieter Brandt, Margaret Dieter, Eva Freels Speedy and several cousins. The family request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra, English Speaking Union, Hospice or St. Marks Episcopal Church.
